Elder Xuam (The Xman) Lawson has over 20 years of experience in the Radio and Entertainment business both Commercial and Public radio. The Xman is a radio veteran and with out question a professional in the business. He worked as a former Account Executive for one of the leading Radio Industry Companies in the country “The Cromwell Group” as well as overnight and weekend personality for the company. He later went on to become a local affiliate producer of the nationally syndicated “Tom Joyner Morning show for over 7 years for Cumulus media. While at Cumulus he worked as the “Overnight Personality”, “Weekend Personality”, “The Quiet Storm”, and filled in for “Mid-Days” and “Afternoon Drive.” In addition to producing “Tom Joyner”, he locally produced for Cumulus the syndicated, “Doug Banks Show”, “The Russ Par Show”, and helped to produce a ground breaking live Sunday morning talk show called, “What’s the 411?” with Sharon Kay. “Sharon Kay” went on to win “Best Talk Show Host of the Year” and to also become nominated over four times for the March of Dime’s National Radio awards. Elder Lawson was also nominated as Producer of the Year over 4 times. After having interviewed and meeting celebrity’s from actors such as the late Bernie Mack, rappers and R&B artist from the group 112, to Destiny’s Child and many others he answered his call by God into the ministry of Jesus Christ and went to seminary at “The American Baptist College” in Nashville TN.

 

He later left Cumulus Media and went to work for Jazzy 88.1FM WFSK with Sharon Kay who was named General Manager of the radio station and Sharon Kay named Elder Lawson Program Director. While at Jazzy 88 Elder Lawson continued to put his stamp on the radio industry by teaching others how to better produce and from time to time Co-producing, “The Tavis Smiley Show”, Jazz at Lincoln Center Radio, “The Box 2 Row Sports show”, “The Sports Corner talk show”, “What’s the 411 with Sharon Kay?”, “The Alexander Zonjic A to Z show”, “Blues time in the City”, “Freestyle with Ron Wynn talk show”, “Health Watch talk show”, “The Cool Jazz Countdown Show”, “The Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel Countdown show”, and others. God spoke to Elder Lawson’s heart and told him to create “Real Gospel” with the Xman. “Real Gospel” with the Xman is the place where “God gets the Glory and Artist tell their story.”

 

Real Gospel is a “Three Hour” weekend program that features gospel music from across the urban genre.
